LIMP BIZKIT REUNION HELPED LETHAL RECOVER FROM DAD'S DEATH
LIMP BIZKIT rocker DJ LETHAL has hailed the band's reunion as the "best birthday present" he's ever had - because it helped him get over the death of his father.
The musician looked to his dad, Grisha Dimant, for inspiration after he was introduced to music as a child.
But when Dimant died in 2007, Lethal fell into a deep depression and was unable to motivate himself - until he got a call on his birthday to meet up with his former bandmates.
Limp Bizkit parted ways in 2001 and again in 2004 after guitarist Wes Borland walked out due to his turbulent relationship with frontman Fred Durst.
But earlier this year (09), the rockers announced their reunion and performed a comeback show in Lethal's native Latvia last month (May09).
The DJ says, "It's been a hard three years - my father passed away two years ago and he was my whole musical inspiration. I basically sat on my couch for a year just being bummed out.
"But on December 18, my birthday, I got a call telling me to meet at Fred's house. I got there, Wes was there and it was the band together... I got the best birthday present ever."
