'It's Not Fair' singer Lily Allen's new boyfriend, builder Sam Cooper, has splashed out £2,000 on a lavish amethyst and sapphire bracelet while on a romantic trip in Venice, Italy.

Lily Allen's boyfriend has surprised her with a £2,000 bracelet.

Builder Sam Cooper - who has been dating the 'It's Not Fair' singer since July - splashed out the huge sum on the lavish vintage bangle as a romantic treat after she fell in love with it during a holiday in Venice, Italy.

A source said: "Lily spotted an amethyst and sapphire bracelet and said she loved it. The next day Sam sneaked off and bought it as a surprise."

As well as spoiling her with expensive gifts, the 44-year-old builder is also encouraging Lily, 24, to pursue an acting career.

He reportedly said: "She would rock as an actress!"

The couple have grown increasingly smitten over recent months.

Earlier this week, Lily revealed Sam's compliments have helped boost her self-esteem.

She said: "I'm so confident and happy in myself now. My boyfriend tells me that I'm beautiful and that he loves me all the time. He says my butt is fabulous and that's all I need."
