LILY ALLEN'S AWARDS UPSET
'Not Fair' singer Lilt Allen is upset she has not been nominated for a Barclaycard Mercury Prize but hopes her friend La Roux wins instead.
Lily Allen is upset she never wins awards for her music.
The 'Not Fair' hitmaker has posted a string of messages on her Twitter account after it was revealed she had not been nominated for this year's prestigious Barclaycard Mercury Prize.
In reference to troubled British soccer player Paul Gasgoigne, Lily wrote: "im like gazza, the judges hate me, but the people, dem love me ..... (sic)"
Lily's second LP 'It's Not Me, It's You' flew to the top of the UK album charts when it was released back in February.
However, the 24-year-old singer/songwriter has been missed off this year's nominations in favour of British and Irish acts including Kasabian, Florence and the Machine, Bat For Lashes, Glasvegas and La Roux - who supported Lily when she was on tour earlier this year.
In support of her friend, Lily wrote: "i hope La Roux wins. (sic)"
Meanwhile, one of her Twitter 'followers' - music photographer Ben Yacobi - wrote an online note in support of 'The Fear' singer after he saw her looking upset at the nomination results.
He wrote: "Spotted @lilyroseallen in the pub last night. The look in her eyes said she knew she'd get snubbed in favour of Glasvegas. Bewilderment. (sic)"
To which the songstress replied: "i was a bit sad. (sic)"
