LILY ALLEN 'SET' FOR DR WHO ROLE
Singer LILY ALLEN is set to appear on the BBC's Dr Who as the doctor's assistant, the Sun has reported.
While comedian CATHERINE TATE is currently filming the part, the newspaper claims that the television show's bosses want the chart-topping singer to fill the role in future series of the show.
And the Sun claims their source believe that Lily's background and the fact that the corporation recently gave her a chat show prove that they have long-term plans for the singer.
"Lily is multi-talented. She comes from more of a TV background than a musical one. After the chat show we hope she'll take over from Catherine as Dr Who's assistant," their source said.
"We've talked to her and she was excited by the idea," they added.
Lily wouldn't be the first singer to play the part of Dr Who's assistant. Pop starlet BILLIE PIPER took the part recently with FREEMA AGYEMAN filling the role most recently.
