LIL WAYNE'S INCOME TAX QUESTIONED
Rapper LIL WAYNE is embroiled in a dispute with Florida authorities over allegations of unpaid tax.
The Lollipop hitmaker, real name Dwayne Carter Jr., is accused by officials in Miami-Dade County of owing $977,840.81 (GBP488,920.41) in income tax to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
The notice of federal tax lien was filed in the county in May (08). The star has been staying in Miami since his New Orleans, Louisiana home was destroyed by 2005's Hurricane Katrina.
Lil Wayne's lawyer, Ron Sweeney, insists his client has paid off the sum, even though a release of lien has not been recorded with the county, according to local reports.
