LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR ANDREWS
THE SOUND OF MUSIC legend DAME JULIE ANDREWS is to be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement gong at America's National Arts Awards.
The English actress will be named as the recipient of the prestigious honour at a ceremony in New York on Monday (06Oct08).
Late Beatle John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono wins the Kitty Carlisle Hart Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Arts, while veteran record producer Phil Ramone will receive the Arts Advocacy Award.
The awards, decided by a panel of Americans for the Arts members, are held every year to honour pioneers in the visual and performing arts.
