LEWIS REPLACES THE LICKS
Actress-turned-rocker JULIETTE LEWIS has replaced her band THE LICKS with a new line-up called THE NEW ROMANTIQUES.
The star formed Juliette and The Licks in 2004 and went on to release three albums with the rock outfit.
But the group disbanded last year (08) and now Lewis has formed a new act in their place.
And the singer insists she is grateful for the change - because it helped her take more risks on new album, Terra Incognita.
She says, "Because this album is so sonically different than anything I've done before and captures many flavours of my emotional life and voice, it needed an entirely new name.
"Terra Incognita means unknown territory - and that’s where I wanted to go musically. It took me five years to really cut my teeth both as a performer and as a songwriter and I wanted to break all the habits I'd gotten used to."
The new record is due for release later this year (09).
