LEONA OUTSELLS THE REST

X Factor winner Leona Lewis outsold the opposition to win her second number one hit with Bleeding Love.

The track, the debut single from her first album, easily overcame opposition from Take That's Rule the World, which entered at number two.

Last week's number one from the Sugababes, About You Now, slipped to four while McFly's The Heart Never Lies was at three.

But it was Lewis who stole all the plaudits, even winning a special word of praise from X Factor supremo Simon Cowell.

"The sales are incredible. I'm absolutely thrilled for Leona, she thoroughly deserves it," he told the BBC.

Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse's Valerie rounded off the top five.

In the album charts, the Hoosiers' The Trick to Life record entered at number one while Van Morrison's best-of, Still on Top – the Greatest Hits, was in at two.

Last week's number one, Pull the Pin by the Stereophonics, fell to six while Ronson's Version was up five places to number three.
