LEON HOLDS OFF SOULJA BOY

X Factor winner Leon Jackson has held on to the number one spot in the UK singles chart.

The reality TV star became the first act to top the charts in 2008, seeing off a sales charge from Soulja Boy Tellem.

Jackson's When You Believe took the Christmas number one on its release after his surprise victory in the ITV talent contest and has now spent three weeks at the pinnacle.

But Crank That (Soulja Boy) could challenge that mantle next week after moving up another place to number two six weeks after its UK release.

The hit has become something of a dance sensation in the US, where it was number one for seven consecutive weeks on the Billboard charts after initially picking up a fanbase via the internet.

Another X-Factor winner, Leona Lewis, dropped a place to number three with her single Bleeding Love, but that will be tempered by the news that the former number one was last year's biggest seller.

Timbaland featuring Onerepublic was a non-mover in four with Apologize, while Take That dropped to number five with the song from the film Stardust, Rule the World.

In the album charts, Radiohead's physical version of In Rainbows, which they released as a download last year, went straight in at the top, with Take That's Beautiful World in second place ahead of Lewis' debut album Spirit.

Thom Yorke's band made headlines when they initially released the record only on the internet and asked fans to decide how much they paid for it.

The record at the top of the charts today is a special collectors' edition of the album.
