LENO AND KIMMEL TURN TO EACH OTHER
U.S. talk show hosts JAY LENO and JIMMY KIMMEL are struggling so much to find guests prepared to cross the Writer's Guild of America picket line - they've agreed to appear on each other's shows. On Thursday (10Jan08), Kimmel will cross the network divide and be a guest NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno - and Leno will return the favour and appear on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! Explaining the move, Leno says, "There are only a few people in the world that know how tough this job is. Jimmy is one of them. It will be fun to discuss who's a good guest... and everything else that comes with sitting behind these desks." Kimmel adds, "If Jay and I can come together and guest on each other's shows, then surely there is hope for peace in the Middle East." Rival David Letterman is getting the pick of A-list guests because his production company secured a deal with striking writers, enabling them to return to work.
