LENNOX UNDERGOES SUCCESSFUL SPINAL SURGERY

LATEST: ANNIE LENNOX has undergone successful spinal surgery after sustaining a back injury earlier this month (Aug08).
The former Eurythmics singer was in Mexico for the International Aids Conference last week (beg11Aug08) when her back "went into a spasm" and she was jetted back to her native England.
Doctors determined Lennox was suffering from an impinged nerve and would need to undergo surgery to recover.
Just last week (beg11Aug08), she wrote on her MySpace.com blog of the scare: "I came back to the U.K. and got wheeled off the plane - a first I must say. I felt a bit like Elizabeth Taylor.
"I got an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan this morning and am now sitting up in bed with my left foot like a dead fish, freezing and numb."
But a spokesperson for the star insists she's recuperating well: "The surgery went as planned, and Annie is now recuperating at home. Annie would like to send her thanks and appreciation to all who have sent their well wishes in the past few days."
