LENNON'S SONG TO GIVE CHARITY A CHANCE

JOHN LENNON's relatives have agreed a deal with the United Nations (U.N.) to give all proceeds from the digital release of his GIVE PEACE A CHANCE anthem to charity.
The 1969 song, by Lennon's Plastic Ono Band, is set for online release via Apple's iTunes website to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the track.
And now the late Beatle's widow, Yoko Ono, as well as his sons Julian and Sean, have decided to donate all proceeds to help fund U.N. initiatives. The agreement lasts until the end of this year (09).
Hector Munoz, chairman of the organisation's Peace Building Commission, says: "We've made an agreement with Yoko Ono and John Lennon's sons on November 3. We are happy to announce that we'll be receiving the proceeds from all iTunes downloads on the 40th anniversary of the release of Give Peace A Chance."
