LENNON'S ARTWORK ON DISPLAY AT NEW YORK GALLERY

JOHN LENNON's widow YOKO ONO is launching an exhibition of never-before-seen artwork created by the late BEATLE at a New York gallery.
Imagine Peace opens on Thursday (09Oct08) - on what would have been Lennon's 68th birthday - at Manhattan's Openhouse Gallery in SoHo.
The exhibit will feature more than 100 works created by the musician between 1968 and 1980.
Ono has been showing parts of the collection for 15 years across the country, with door donations going to local charities.
Among the rare artworks included are Lennon's controversial Bag-One lithograph drawings, so erotic that London police force Scotland Yard once seized them from a show.
Collection curator Rudy Siegel admits he expects a diverse crowd of art aficionados and Lennon fans in attendance, adding: "We've had them hung next to our Picassos and our Warhols. They hold their own."
Lennon's exhibit will run through till Sunday (12Oct08).
