LENNON & ONO BED-IN PHOTOS ON DISPLAY FOR THE FIRST TIME

Unseen photos of JOHN LENNON and YOKO ONO have gone on display at the museum on the site of the Woodstock festival, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in August (09).
The Give Peace A Chance: John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Bed-In For Peace exhibit opened at the Museum at Bethel Woods in New York on Friday (12Jun09) and features images taken by photographer Gerry Deiter, who covered the couple's famous 1969 peace protest for Life magazine.
Deiter was the only photographer who spent the entire eight days of the bed-in with Lennon and Ono and captured photos of the couple being interviewed, singing, doodling and chatting with famous pals like Tom Smothers and psychedelic era guru Timothy Leary.
The event, staged in room 1742 of Montreal, Canada’s Queen Elizabeth Hotel, was held to protest the Vietnam War.
