LENNON NOT OVERSHADOWED BY DAD'S LEGACY

SEAN LENNON refuses to allow the achievements of his late father JOHN LENNON and mother YOKO ONO to overshadow his own music career, because it was inevitable he would enter the "family business". The 31-year-old, who was just five years old when ex-BEATLE John was shot and killed in New York City in 1980, believes he followed his dad into the music industry because he lacks a rebellious streak. Discussing his father's legacy, Sean says, "I don't really see it as a shadow. I see it more like a tree that I'm a branch of. I don't think it's strange to be a songwriter if your dad was one and your mum was one as well. "I think one either chooses to embrace your family history and go into the family business, whatever that is, or to try to rebel against it and do something else. It's basically the two choices, and I chose the former."
