LEGEND TO PLAY AIRPLANE GIG TO MARK GRAMMYS' 50TH ANNIVERSARY

R+B singer JOHN LEGEND will perform an in-flight concert to a handful of lucky sweepstake winners to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Grammy Awards next month (Feb08). The Get Lifted star will play a 30-minute set at 30,000 feet aboard a Delta Air Lines plane travelling from New York to Los Angeles on 7 February. Legend's audience will be the 50 to 60 people who win a series of sweepstakes on the websites of participating CBS stations and affiliates, reports Billboard. Legend says, "I look forward to performing this unique concert in the skies with my biggest fans. "It's certainly something I've never done before, so if you want to join me for a free ride to the Grammy Awards, enter the contest. Let's get lifted!" The 2008 Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on 10 February (08) in Los Angeles. Organisers have promised the event will go ahead, despite the threat of protest from striking writers.
