LEE TO CREATE NEW SUPERHERO FRANCHISE

Comic book legend STAN LEE is to develop a new superhero franchise to rival his former creations including SPIDER-MAN, X-MEN and the HULK.
The former president of Marvel Comics is reportedly working on a new concept called Legion of 5, which the writer hopes to turn into a series of computer-animated films.
Lee's production company POW! Entertainment has teamed up with Utah investment firm Brighton Partners and Vancouver-based producer Rainmaker Entertainment to expand the franchise to video games, as well as online and mobile phone downloads.
Rainmaker boss Warren Franklin admits they are hoping to invest $24 million (GBP12 million) in the project to give the franchise a strong foundation.
He says, "We are hoping to develop a strong franchise with the characters."
