LEE JONES TAKES ON HEMINGWAY ADAPTATION
Actor TOMMY LEE JONES is set to produce, direct and star in a new adaptation of ERNEST HEMINGWAY's book ISLANDS IN THE STREAM.
The Fugitive star, 61, has penned the script - based on the 1970 novel about a reclusive painter and his life before, during and after World War II - with The Perfect Storm writer Bill Witliff.
Morgan Freeman and John Goodman are also said to be in negotiations to join the project, which is due to be presented to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (18May08), according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Islands in the Stream will be Jones' second directorial effort; 2005's The Three Burials of Melquiadas Estrada was his first.
