LED ZEPPELIN TRIBUTE ACT CAUSES BONNAROO CONFUSION

An all-girl LED ZEPPELIN tribute band has caused mass confusion after it was mistakenly reported the legendary rockers would be reuniting for a second time to play a U.S. music festival. Covers band Lez Zeppelin are scheduled to play at the three-day Bonnaroo Arts And Music Festival in Tennessee in June (08). But organisers placed the unknown group's name prominently on their press release, leading many news organisations to erroneously announce Led Zeppelin's return on Wednesday (06Feb08). Bonnaroo 2008 will be headlined by Metallica, Pearl Jam and Kanye West, and will feature a performance by Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant with Alison Krauss. Original Led Zeppelin members Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones reunited for a one-off reunion show in London in December (07). Last week (ends01Feb08), Page assured fans the band is hoping to embark on a full reunion tour, but that they'll have to wait until September (08) when Plant has finished promotional work for his recent duets album with Krauss. Red-faced Bonnaroo bosses accept they may have gone too far when they prominently announced the news Lez Zeppelin would be performing. A spokesman tells WENN, "We thought it would be a good idea. We've had to make a lot of calls to correct this. It seems a lot of people were caught out by the press announcement."
