LED ZEPPELIN TO PLAY TWO-HOUR SET
LED ZEPPELIN have promise to treat fans to a two hour long set at their reunion show.
NME has reported that guitarist JIMMY PAGE revealed that those lucky enough to have tickets for the sold out show will hear the band's hits across "the best part of two hours".
"When we were first asked to do this [reunion show], we were asked to play a 40-minute set. We soon realised we couldn't," Page told Q magazine.
"If we go out and play NO QUARTER, MOBY DICK and DAZED AND CONFUSED with all the solos, you're already talking over an hour."
Two hours will be fans' limit though as Page admitted he would be unable to play the mammoth three-and-a-half hour sets of the band's heyday.
The reformed band will take to the stage at the O2 Arena in London, on December 10th.
JIMMY PAGE told music magazine Q that he may consult ELTON JOHN about how to achieve the best sound in the huge venue.
"The Stones sounded terrible [when they played there], PRINCE wasn't great, SNOW PATROL was just this monolithic noise," Page said.
He added that the only person who has sounded good while playing at the arena was ELTON JOHN and that he might have a word with the singer's soundman.
Original band members Page, ROBERT PLANT and JOHN PAUL JONES will be joined on stage at the reunion gig by JOHN BONHAM's son JASON BONHAM who currently drums for FOREIGNER.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine the group said that Bonham was more than ready to play with the band and saluted the effort he had put in to learning and understanding the songs.
