LED ZEPPELIN FANS WARNED AGAINST TICKET TOUTS

LED ZEPPELIN fans have been warned against buying from scalpers for the legendary rockers' reunion gig in London on Monday night (10Dec07) - because the extortionately-priced tickets are likely to be fake. Led Zeppelin will take to the stage at the O2 Arena on Monday to pay tribute to their late friend and Atlantic Records founder, Ahmet Ertegun. Tickets for the show were distributed via an online ballot earlier this year (07) and, in an effort to crack down on touts, organisers have insisted each lucky ticket holder collect their stub in person with appropriate photographic identification at the venue. On collection, the fan will be fitted with a special orange wristband, which must not be removed prior to the gig - otherwise access will be denied. And despite the stringent security measures, tickets for the monumental gig are still being sold on auction site eBay for $3,100 (GBP1,550)-a-pair. But the band's spokesman, Chris Goodman, has urged fans not to pay attention to the fraudulent listings. He says, "Everybody has been warned that they cannot get through in any other way and if they choose to go on unofficial sites, that is the chance they take."
