LEARY LEAVES ANGRY STREAK ON CAMERA

American actor DENIS LEARY has vowed to keep his angry streak under control, after lashing out at a waiter when he dined with English model/actress ELIZABETH HURLEY last month (FEB07). Leary, who plays firefighter TOMMY GAVIN in US TV comedy drama RESCUE ME, revealed it was Hurley who persuaded him to keep his cool after an incident at a restaurant led him to nearly lose his temper. He explains, "What happened was the waiter allowed friends of his to take photographs of the two of us while we ate. I eat like an animal and I'd rather people weren't taking photos when I have half a steak hanging out of my mouth. I took exception to this and we had words. "Fortunately, Liz was a little more democratic than me and she calmed the situation." As a result, the 49-year-old has now promised to only show his anger on screen. He adds, "I can get a little hot-headed. I've decided I'm only going to get angry if people pay me to!"
