LEACHMAN LOSES FRANKENSTEIN ROLE

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN star CLORIS LEACHMAN has lost her bid to reprise her FRAU BLUCHER character in the film's upcoming stage musical adaptation - Tony-winner Andrea Martin has landed the part. Leachman rallied to join the cast of the new Mel Brooks musical and fans petitioned the producers but the brains behind the new Broadway show have decided not to offer the veteran actress the role. Instead, Martin will play the part when the musical opens in Seattle, Washington in August (07) before heading to New York in November (07). She'll join Roger Bart, Megan Mullally and Sutton Foster in the much-anticipated stageshow.
