LE BON WAS 'DESTINED' TO BE FAMOUS

DURAN DURAN frontman SIMON LE BON was convinced from a young age he was destined to be famous. The 49-year-old always thought he would grow up to lead an unusual life and was sure his unusual name would play a part in it. He says, "I always wanted to be different, partly because I had a French surname. I didn't get the piss taken out of me at school, but I do remember feeling different from a very early age, and deciding that a normal life was not meant for me or that I wasn't destined for a life of normality."
