LCD SOUNDSYSTEM TALK SIDE PROJECT
James Murphy - frontman of LCD SOUNDSYSTEM - has been talking about his part in a new rock act signed to his DFA record label.
The new outfit had been formed by Scott Wells and Paul Sprangers, two former members of Minneapolis band HOCKEY NIGHT, with Murphy playing bass and his LCD bandmate Pat Mahoney manning the drumstool.
According to Murphy, the material which has been recorded so far has the makings of a "classic rock record".
However, he told BBC 6 Music that the various members have not yet decided on a name for the venture.
"They don't have a name yet. They have a lot of names that we argue back and forth about. I think they try to come up with the worst names possible just to wind me up," he said.
Murphy said the record is currently at the mixing stage and should hit the shops in the first half of next year.
