LATIFAH READY FOR BROADWAY DEBUT

QUEEN LATIFAH has been bombarded with offers to appear on Broadway - but is holding out for her dream role.
The rapper-turned-actress received an Oscar nomination for playing Mama Morton in the film version of Chicago and starred as Motormouth Maybelle in the 2007 Hairspray movie.
She is yet to appear on the New York stage, but hasn't ruled out taking the big step - if the right part comes along.
She says, "If I find a project that I really like, I'd come to Broadway. They've definitely been coming at me.
"It's one of the last things I have to conquer in my career. I respect Broadway, and I respect those who are performers on Broadway. I realise that there's a lot of work that goes into it and a big commitment.
"So for me, it's about having a project that is special enough to me to want to do it and to want to work that hard and to want to really commit myself to it."
