LANSBURY TO PAY TRIBUTE TO GERSHWIN
Stage stars including ANGELA LANSBURY will pay tribute to the late composer GEORGE GERSHWIN at the Lincoln Center in New York City on 13 November (06). Gershwin, who died aged 38 in 1937, wrote the music for shows like LADY BE GOOD, PORGY AND BESS and GIRL CRAZY. He is best known for RHAPSODY IN BLUE, which was memorably used during the opening of WOODY ALLEN's 1979 film MANHATTAN. Alongside Tony Award winner Lansbury, KITTY CARLISLE HART, PATTI AUSTIN, BRIAN STOKES MITCHELL, MICHAEL FEINSTEIN and MARCUS ROBERT are all set to appear at next month's event in the Lincoln Center's Frederick P Rose Hall. ED BRADLEY will host the ceremony.
