LANGELLA REPRISES STAGE ROLE FOR MOVIE
FRANK LANGELLA has agreed to reprise his stage role as disgraced American President RICHARD NIXON in the upcoming film version.
Frost/Nixon is a dramatic reenactment of Nixon's famed 1977 TV interview with David Frost, and has wowed audiences in both Broadway and London's West End.
The film adaptation will be directed by Ron Howard.
Warren Beatty, Tom Hanks and Kevin Spacey were all tipped to play Nixon but Superman Returns actor Langella is in final negotiations to wrap up the deal.
It is not yet known if his stage counterpart Michael Sheen, who plays Frost, will join him on the big screen.
