Lady GaGa was so overjoyed to hear officials in California have taken a step towards overturning the state's gay marriage ban, she "instantly" began writing new music to celebrate.
Same-sex marriage was legalised in the state in 2008, but the decision was reversed just six months later by the controversial Proposition 8 bill.
On Wednesday (04Aug10), a top U.S. judge branded the Prop 8 legislation "unconstitutional", paving the way for the ban to be lifted for good.
Lady Gaga, who is an avid supporter of gay rights issues and dedicated her recent hit Alejandro to her loyal homosexual fanbase, admits she was overwhelmed by the news and began working on new songs straight away to mark the occasion.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "At the moments notice (sic) of Prop 8 death I instantly began to write music. Bubble dreams forever! Full equality! This is just the beginning! Rejoice and celebrate gay communities and straight all over the world. Our voices are being heard! Loud! Scream loud Americanos!"
