LABELLE AND CIARA JOIN SISTER SLEDGE FOR KATRINA SINGLE

PATTI LABELLE, CIARA, BRIAN MCKNIGHT, CHRIS BROWN and BRANFORD MARSALIS have all signed up to record a single with SISTER SLEDGE for the Hurricane Katrina disaster relief. Grammy Award-winning producer RODNEY JERKINS gathered the stars together to perform the group's 1970s hit single WE ARE FAMILY. Although he was able to corral the celebrities for a recording session, filming for a video has proved to be a bit more difficult. Jerkins explains, "We're hoping to get everybody back in, but it was so hard just to finish this. "I was trying to wait on MARIAH (CAREY) and MARY MARY, but their schedules were just too crazy." The We Are Family CD single and DVD are released in the US today (29AUG06) to coincide with the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina hitting the Gulf Coast.
