LA BAMBA STAR TO PLAY KING ARTHUR

LA BAMBA star LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS is set for a royal role after signing on to play King Arthur in a new national US tour of medieval musical Camelot. The Lerner and Loewe stageshow will begin a new trek across America with dates in Los Angeles this September (07). Phillips replaces previously announced star, Michael York, who will be departing the national tour just prior to the Los Angeles engagement. The actor wowed Broadway in 1996 with his award-winning star turn in The King + I.
