KOOPA MAKE UK CHART HISTORY

Rock band KOOPA made British chart history last night (14JAN07) after becoming the first unsigned band to have a UK Top 40 hit. The British band got to number 31 with their download-only single BLAG, STEAL + BORROW - taking advantage of new UK chart rules which allow digital sales to enter the chart, even if there is no physical version available. Elsewhere, X FACTOR winner LEONA LEWIS stays at the top for the fourth week running with her debut single - a cover of KELLY CLARKSON hit A MOMENT LIKE THIS. PROPER EDUCATION by ERIC PRYDZ VS FLOYD stays at number two, while hotly tipped singer MIKA enters straight at number three with debut single GRACE KELLY. JUST JACK's STARZ IN THEIR EYES is at number four, while the hugely successful comeback single PATIENCE from TAKE THAT falls from three to five.
