KNOWSLEY HALL FESTIVAL GETS LICENCE

Knowsley Hall festival has been given the green light after being granted its event licence for June 23rd and 24th.

The festival will include sets from the Who, Keane, the Zutons, Joss Stone and the Thrills as well as local favourites the Coral.

Merseyside's biggest festival is expected to draw 30,000 fans for each day in the surroundings of Knowsley Hall.

The event is being co-promoted by Cream and Loudsound who are also behind Creamfields and Rockness.

James Barton, chief executive of Cream, said: "Merseyside has waited too long for its own dates on the summer festival circuit, and the granting of this licence gives us the chance to put on an event with a line-up the equal of anything to be found around the country.

"Knowsley Hall is going to be a wonderful venue and the festival will be one of the music highlights of the summer."

The full line-up for the festival includes sets from the View, Shack, the Orange Lights and the Wombats.

Playing on the MySpace stage are the Black Velvets, the Maybes, the Aeroplanes and special guests from the site's 'battle of the bands' contest.

Weekend tickets are priced at £70 plus booking fee and day tickets are also available.

Knowsley Hall is a non-camping festival.
