KNOWLES COPYRIGHT ACCUSER TAKES CASE TO COURT OF APPEAL

A woman accusing BEYONCE KNOWLES of stealing the lyrics for her hit BABY BOY has taken her case to a U.S. appeals court. Jennifer Armour's claim, that Knowles took the words from her song Got a Little Bit of Love for You, was dismissed by a Houston judge last year (06). But her lawyer has told a three-judge panel in Lubbock, Texas that the case should be heard by a jury. Dana Kirk, representing Armour, told the judges that an expert analysed the songs and ruled that they are substantially similar. Knowles' lawyer Cynthia Arato argued that the standard for copyright cases is what an ordinary person can hear, not an expert.
