KNIGHT'S DELIGHT AT WONDER DUET
Soul singer BEVERLEY KNIGHT was thrilled when her former touring mate PRINCE asked her to sing at his post-Oscars party - because she ended up duetting with her idol STEVIE WONDER.
The Brit singer supported the Kiss superstar on a 21-night residency at London's 02 arena in 2007, and the pair stayed in touch after the string of shows.
Knight was shocked to receive a phone call from the superstar asking her to come to Los Angeles - and even more surprised when he asked her to perform at his Academy Awards afterparty.
She says, "I had opened for him at the groundbreaking 21 nights at the O2 in London and he saw me and asked if I'd perform the aftershows - I had such a great time!
"And then, out of the clear blue sky, I got a call asking me to come to L.A. Prince wanted me to perform at his post-Oscars party with Stevie Wonder and half of Hollywood in the audience.
"I was flabbergasted. We sang Superstition then jammed it for ages - Stevie, Prince on guitar, me and the band on vocals. I was very lucky."
