KNIGHT LEAVES GREY'S FOR BROADWAY STAGE?

Actress MELISSA GEORGE has fuelled reports her former GREY'S ANATOMY co-star T.R. KNIGHT has left the hit U.S. TV show for the Broadway stage.
Knight's character George O'Malley appeared to die in the final episode of the show's most recent season after he was hit by a bus, and reports suggest his request to quit the show three years before his contract expires has been granted.
Reports suggest his departure comes after a feud with Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes about his character's diminished role in the show.
And now George has confirmed reports he's leaving, and plans to headline the Broadway revival of Lend Me a Tenor in 2010.
She tells Usmagazine.com, "Yes, he is (leaving). He's one of my best friends. I feel great for him... He's had a good week. We just went to see two Broadway shows in the last two days. That's something great, you know? For him."
Knight appeared opposite Patti LuPone in a 2001 revival of Noises Off and in the 2003 production of Tartuffe. He last appeared on the New York stage in the 2004 off-Broadway in the drama Boy.
