KLINE'S FUSSY NATURE EARNS HIM HOLLYWOOD NICKNAME

Movie star KEVIN KLINE's fussy nature has earned him the title 'Kevin Decline' in certain Hollywood circles. Moviemaker Adam Brooks, who directs Kline in new film Definitely, Maybe, reveals the actor is famous for turning down great roles and being indecisive about parts he eventually signs up for. The director reveals, "I wrote French Kiss and he was the star. We became friends and I maintained a relationship with him and I always wanted him in this part (literary professor Hampton Roth). "But he turns everything down; he's known throughout Hollywood as Kevin Decline. Over the course of a week he turned this part down a number of times. He frets over everything and he worries." But Brooks' persistence paid off: "I said, 'Kevin, I think you're making a mistake because this is fun great role for you, but I'll move on. Every day I don't have another actor I'm gonna offer it to you again.' "On the fifth day he changed his mind and said, 'Yes.' He always has a million questions, some of which are fantastic and some which you get tired of, but it's part of his process."
