KINK DAVIES TO PICK UP HONOUR
THE KINKS frontman RAY DAVIES will be honoured by America's performing rights organisation Broadcast Music Inc (BMI) later this year (06). The WATERLOO SUNSET singer will receive the BMI's Icon award at the Dorchester Hotel in London on 3 October. The honour is presented to songwriters and artists who have made "a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers". Previous recipients have included VAN MORRISON and ex-TRAFFIC star STEVE WINWOOD.
