KING: 'WIFE'S CLEANING INSPIRED ME TO WRITE'
Horror writer STEPHEN KING was moved to write his new book LISEY'S STORY after his wife cleaned his study when he was in hospital. After sustaining horrific injuries including a collapsed right lung, multiple fractures of the right leg and a broken hip in a 1999 traffic accident, King spent nearly three weeks in hospital, and he was shocked when he returned home to recover from his accident. He reveals, "The reason why I wrote this book is because my wife tidied my study when I was in hospital. I came home and the carpets were all rolled up, and everything was clean, and I realised what it would be like if I was dead. "I wanted to write a book about what love means to me. I know that sounds corny."
