KING PAYS TRIBUTE TO BREAST CANCER FIGHTERS IN NEW FILM
Actress REGINA KING signed up to star in harrowing new TV movie LIVING PROOF to pay tribute to the five women in her life who have won and lost breast cancer battles.
Ray star King plays a terminally ill breast cancer patient, opposite Harry Connick Jr. and Trudie Styler in the film, based on real-life doctor Dennis Slamon, who developed ground-breaking breast cancer drug Herperin.
And she admits she had very personal reasons for signing up for the film.
She tells BlackVoices.com, "I knew pretty much about breast cancer and the statistics.
"I have five women that have been in my life that have been affected by breast cancer, so I would say that it's close to home. Three of them are survivors and two of them weren't. I would say that it's close to home for everyone, unfortunately."
