KILMER STEPS IN FOR ARNETT IN KNIGHT RIDER

Actor VAL KILMER has replaced WILL ARNETT as the voice of talking car KITT in the TV movie remake of KNIGHT RIDER. Arnett had already finished filming for the movie-adaptation of the hit 1980s' series, but was forced to quit the project after a row over sponsorship clashes. The Blades of Glory star has previously done voice-over work for American car company General Motors - while the movie car is a Ford Mustang, and the film is sponsored by Ford. Arnett tells industry publication Variety, "I was very excited at the prospect of playing the part of KITT in the new Knight Rider movie. "However, because of a long relationship with General Motors as the voice of GMC Trucks, I had to respectfully withdraw from the project."
