KIDD HELPS WOMAN HIT BY TAXI

Model JODIE KIDD rushed to aid an elderly woman she saw hit by a speeding taxi recently. The British beauty was filling her car up with petrol in Egham Hill, England when VALERIE NAYAR, 71, was struck by a cab as she tried to cross the road. But 27-year-old Kidd took control of the situation straightaway. A witness says, "Jodie dashed across the road and immediately began directing the traffic, thinking nothing of her own safety. Cars were coming up the hill at speed, but she stayed there in the middle of the road until the police arrived. "She seemed immensely frustrated it took the ambulance 20 minutes to arrive." But Kidd is playing down her heroic actions, and is calling for more witnesses to come forward. She says, "I only did what any human being would do in the circumstances. "It's depressing that so few people have come forward. I hope witnesses will call the police because it could happen to any of us, at any time."
