KID ROCK HONOURED IN DETROIT

KID ROCK has joined the sporting elite of Michigan - a banner raised in his honour during a basketball game on Friday night (30Jan09) is to have a permanent place at the home of the Detroit Pistons. The banner was raised at the Palace of Auburn Hills near Detroit - during the Pistons' big game against the Boston Celtics - to mark the 18 shows the rocker has sold out at the Palace and sister venue, the DTE Energy Music Theatre.
Kid Rock, real name Robert Ritchie, joins the likes of Bon Jovi, Neil Diamond and Alan Jackson among the entertainers honoured high above the Pistons home court.
