KID ROCK BOOSTS DALY'S GOLF GAME
KID ROCK gave the Buick Open in his native Michigan some star power when he cheered on golfer pal JOHN DALY at the weekend (01Jul07).
The rap-rocker followed Daly around the Warwick Hills course in a mini-Buick golf cart, sipping beer and signing autographs.
Rock revealed he and Daly have been long-time friends and he agreed to give up a day in the studio, recording a new album, to cheer Daly on.
The rocker - real name Robert Ritchie - told reporters he first befriended the golfer after hearing that Daly had spent $4,000 (GBP2,000) on merchandise at one of his concerts in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Buick Open marked the first time Kid Rock had actually seen his friend officially play.
But the rocker revealed, "He hits off Coors Light cans at my house."
Rock revealed that Daly actually stayed at his home while in suburban Detroit for the golf tournament, and the rocker served up breakfast before his charge on the final day.
The event was won by Brian Bateman.
