KID NUMBER EIGHT ON THE WAY FOR MEL GIBSON

Hollywood actor/director Mel Gibson has confirmed his new girlfriend is pregnant.

During an appearance on the Jay Leno show the Braveheart star told the audience Oksana Grigorieva was pregnant with what will be his eighth child.

Discussing why he split with his wife Robyn, who filed divorce papers last month, Gibson said his marriage had actually been over for a while.

"My wife and I, our marriage ended three years ago and we've been separated ever since then," he told Leno.

"These things happen. It's unfortunate, it's sad, but you know she is an admirable woman - we still got kids together. We're friends.

"Look, when it's all said and done, I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself. I'm to blame. If you're inclined to judge, put it here."

Later in the interview, the 53-year-old admitted Grigorieva was expecting their first child: "This is true. We're gonna have a child."

The child will be Gibson's eighth and he quipped about the pregnancy: "I guess I'm Octo-Mel."

Grigorieva also has a son with former boyfriend former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton.
