KHAN: 'I'M FINALLY SOBER'

R+B star CHAKA KHAN has broken her silence over her battle with alcoholism - insisting she has given up drink for good. The I'm Every Woman singer struggled with alcohol and drug abuse for many years but eventually managed to get her life back on track. In 1999 she set up the Chaka Khan Foundation, offering treatment to women with similar problems. Now the star is free of her addiction and happy at the progress she has made. She says, "I am sober. A lot of people go through this. I had been blocking a lot of gifts and blessings by self-medicating and it all came raining down. But it's all good now." The 54-year-old released her comeback album Funk This earlier this month (Oct07), her highest charting record in 23 years.
