KEYS BEGS AMERICAN IDOL VIEWERS TO SUPPORT CHARITY

ALICIA KEYS has urged AMERICAN IDOL viewers to donate $5 (£3.30) to help fight AIDS in Africa and India.
The No One singer appealed to the audience of the hit U.S. show to support her charity Keep a Child Alive's Text ALIVE Challenge on Wednesday night (13May09).
The campaign aims to bring medicine and medical care to victims of HIV and AIDS.
Keys, who co-founded the charity and serves as its global ambassador, also introduced a beneficiary of the organisation, 15-year-old Rwandan rapper Noah, who performed on the talent show.
She says, "For us to help people like him in his situation with Keep a Child Alive, and with everyone watching being able to know that, even with all the hardships they might be going through, there's always someone going through something far worse - so to help someone other than yourself is really a noble thing to do.
"It puts everything into perspective... For the cost of probably less than you would spend at Starbucks, you can help someone like Noah."
