KELLY TALKS LONGEVITY

STEREOPHONICS frontman Kelly Jones has been discussing his tips for enjoying a long career in the music business.

The Welsh rockers – who are currently on an arena tour of the UK - have enjoyed success for the past ten years with hit songs such as JUST LOOKING and DAKOTA.

Speaking to Music Week, Jones said his experience has taught him the best ways to stay relevant.

"Songs are first," he said. "You've gotta put the work in on the songs and stick to your guns really."

He also noted the merits of coming back with a new haircut for each album, but said he fears he may have now have sported them all.

After the reception which greeted their song MR WRITER, Jones also said he has learned not to pay attention to the critics.

"We had to do that, we had some good reviews up until Mr Writer and after that, it took us five years to get back to where we started," said Kelly.

The band have just released a greatest hits album entitled DECADE IN THE SUN: BEST OF STEREOPHONICS.
