KELLY OSBOURNE TO HOST RADIO 1 SHOW

Kelly Osbourne is set to host a Sunday evening radio show for teenagers on the BBC's Radio 1.

The singer, who has an album entitled Shut Up!, will start hosting the Sunday Surgery programme in October.

The daughter of rock star Ozzy Osbourne will host the show as part of the radio station's changes to its Sunday evening schedule. The radio channel's Sunday evening programming is now going to be more focused towards shows for teenagers.

Her appointment is part of other changes to Radio 1's broadcast
pattern, under which Friday evenings will be dedicated to dance music while Saturday night will give greater prominence to urban music.

Popular breakfast show host Chris Moyles will also get an extra 30 minutes on air from October 15th, after his show was pushed forward to the 06:30 BST time slot.

Moyles spoke to the BBC about how the earlier schedule will affect his sleeping patterns.

"I'm really pleased with my extension. We always run out of time on the show so it'll be great having an extra half hour a day. Although, because it means getting up earlier, I'll probably be late more often!"

Speaking about the wider changes, which will take effect from October 12th, Radio 1 controller Andy Parfitt said: "It's important that we keep up the pace of change and innovation both on air and online.

"This simplifies and strengthens Radio One and is an important step in providing programmes focused on the under-18 audience," he added.
