KEITH HITS BACK AT PRO-LYNCHING CLAIMS
Country star TOBY KEITH has defended himself against claims one of his songs celebrates lynching.
The allegation was made by a newspaper blogger last week (29Jul08), citing lyrics in Keith's 2003 track Beer for my Horses, in which he sings about, "...hanging them high in the street".
The subject is particularly sensitive because many blacks were lynched by racist groups during the 19th century.
But Keith insists his words have been misconstrued - and dubs the Huffington Post blogger a "moron".
He says, "It's about the old west and horses and sheriffs and posses and going and getting the bad guys. It's not a racist thing or about lynching. The song was a hit and the words lynch and racism has never come up until this moron wrote this blog."

While its true that lynchings were used to control and intimidate the black population
back in the day, the truth is that more white people have been lynched in America
than black people. So his arguement is completely without merit. I think the
fact that black people murder more black people in one year, than white people lynched
in the entire history of lynching as being more important for the black community
than Max trying to make a racist out of a country singer.
What a knucklehead. This guy takes one line and makes it something its not. This
guy also seems to have forgotten the lines:
Justice is the one thing you'll always find..."
Which has nothing to do with racism but owning up for your crimes.
And if Max had a problem with the song, where was he five years ago.
